Anna Bossman Lauds Lauretta Lamptey

The former acting commissioner for the Commission of Human and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), Ms Anna Bossman has lauded President Mills� appointment of Ms Lauretta Lamptey as the new CHRAJ Boss. Ms Anna Bossman who has known Ms Lauretta Lamptey for over 30 years noted that, she is confident that the new CHRAJ boss has the capability and qualities to tackle human rights issues lead the commission with a fair mind. Ms Lauretta Lamptey, an Investment Banker was sworn in on Tuesday July 26, as the new commissioner for CHRAJ. Her appointment comes some two months after Ms Anna Bossman resigned as Acting Commissioner to pursue other interests, having served in the post for several years. Speaking on the Citi Eyewitness News on Thursday July 28, Ms Anna Bossman commended government for appointing a woman to head the commission and said she was delighted at the fact that Ms Lauretta Lamptey is an outsider who would be able to deal with the affairs of the commission dispassionately. �I think it is a wonderful idea that the government has decided that a woman should head the commission�. Ms Lamptey told Shamima Muslim, host of Citi Eyewitness News, that she was aware of the enormity of the task ahead but is prepared, willing and would be able to perform the task to the best of her ability. The new CHRAJ Boss who has a knack for reading and a thirst for knowledge declared that she was ready for the challenge and that she would deal with the issues fairly. Ms Lamptey stated that with the utmost support of the staff of the commission, the integrity of CHRAJ would be uplifted under her leadership.
