Politics Of Insults And High Cost Of Tertiary Education In Public Institutions

A non government organisation and non partisan group whose aim and objectives are for better governance, peace, stability, youth empowerment, gender empowerment, good health, economic empowerment and better social standard through better voting process by means of encouraging and educating floating voters to vote wisely for politicians whose aims and objectives for visions are akin to national development. We are therefore counting on politicians, party leaders and their supporters to desist from using foul and abusive language against their opponent s which has gathered momentum on the media landscape in recent times. The multi-billion question is what are we teaching our Ghanaian youth who have been following politics with prompt attention? We would like to find out if politicians of today would like their wards to trade insults on them, if no, then they better need to revise their notes on politics of insults. In the event of politicians continuance of acing abusive language on their opponents will compel the above organisation to advise or direct its members to vote against such politicians or could even advice members not to vote at all in future elections for such leaders. We are therefore calling on national house of chiefs, the National Peace Council, the Christian Council of Ghana, the Ghana National Association of Muslims and other stake holders to wake up to this call, by taking steps to put an end to this un holy act which could polarize the country or could also ignite tension in the country. Also, we would like to advise Radio presenters to sieve unguarded and un-Ghanaian statements which can cause chaos and anarchy as had happened in countries like Rwanda. Furthermore, we are calling on the President of the NDC government, the Ministry of Education, University Council to take a second look of the rising cost of University Education in the country which is a birth right of every citizen but not a privilege because education is the bedrock of every country. We are therefore craving the indulgence of the government to reduce the current University user fees as well as all other fees so as that it does not affect parents burdens in order not to also ignite any tension that is mounting up in the various Universities in the country. This could also affect all academic programs as well as retrogressing development at large.
