NUGS Brace Up For Another Demo In Kumasi

University of Ghana authorities have until Tuesday, August 2, 2011 to reduce school fees for students or ten thousand more students will hit the streets in Kumasi. That is the threat by the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS). �We can�t trust the university authorities; we can�t trust Prof Aryeetey, Vice Chancellor and we are giving him a deadline. This will let them know that students in Kumasi are not relenting on their efforts and the deadline we have given them is next week Tuesday," lead organiser of NUGS, Emmanuel Addo told Luv FM on Friday. NUGS after the demonstration in Accra on Wednesday proceeded to the Ashanti Region to court support from students in the region for another demonstration. Emmanuel Addo in a later interview with Joy News said the meeting was highly successful, stating, the pressure they are mounting on the university authorities is in the right direction. He said students have been taken for granted for far too long and the �struggle for a massive reduction in our fees has just begun.� He said the University of Ghana authorities have until Tuesday to announce a reduction in fees of face the wrath of students in Kumasi.
