Ewe History To Be Launched

Ewe Stamme (pronounced steam), a new edition of Ewe history, is to be launched in September this year. The book, authored by Jacob Spieth, a German Missionary, is the study of the Ewe people in the then German-Togoland. In red hard cover with maps and photographs of ancient landmarks, historic sites and artillery among others, the book was sponsored by the German Embassy and edited by Professor Komla Amoaku. Togbe Afede XIV, Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State who disclosed this at a general meeting of the Asogli Traditional Council in Ho on Friday, said the book is written in English and Ewe and would offer the current generation the opportunity to know their roots, culture and identity. He said the launching would be performed during the Asogli Yam Festival this September.
