Man Sprays Pepper Into Trotro Driver�s Eyes

A 33-year-old driver has been arrested by the Odorkor District Police Command for allegedly spraying a substance believed to be pepper into the eyes of a trotro driver. Suspect Frank Opoku who lives at New Bortiano was said to have attacked the victim, Ernest Gyamera 54, at the Kaneshie First Light after a misunderstanding ensued between them. The victim, also driving a passenger vehicle with registration number GW 5093 �R and loaded with passengers, was quickly rushed to the Dansoman polyclinic for treatment. Meanwhile, suspect Frank Opoku who is currently in police custody, is pleading that he was sorry for the act. The deputy commander in-charge of the Odorkor District Police Command, Kwabena Owusu-Bempah, said around 9:15am on Friday while the two were driving, suspect Frank Opoku allegedly smashed his VW saloon car with registration number GC 219-09 into the victim�s vehicle while the traffic was dense. When the two got out of their vehicle to inspect the damage, a misunderstanding ensued between them. In the process, the suspect picked the substance which is believed to be pepper solution and sprayed it into the eyes of the victim. Instantly, the victim could not see anything and so he shouted for help. Police men on duty rushed to the scene to convey the victim to the hospital while the suspect was arrested. He said the substance was not found by the police personnel at the scene but efforts were being made to get it. He said the suspect would be put before court soon while investigations continued.
