2012 Elections: It's Mills/Mahama Again!

It is now official. Peacefmonline.com can authoritatively confirm that John Dramani Mahama will partner President John Evans Atta Mills on the ticket of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the 2012 general elections. National Organiser of the NDC, Yaw Boateng Gyan confirmed the news in an interview with Nana Yaw Kese during PeaceFM News@6pm. Prior to the announcement, the grapevine had it that President Mills was seeking to cede his authority and office to the Vice President John Mahama because of poor health. But on Thursday August 4th, President Mills finally put paid to these rumours by declaring that John Mahama will be his running mate for the 2012 general elections. Speaking to PeaceFM News, the NDC National Organiser disclosed that the president made the announcement at a crunch National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held at the Institute of Local Government Studies (ILGS) in Madina to discuss some serious issues arising out of the recently held Sunyani Congress of the party. According to him, President Mills took advantage of the high-profile meeting which was held in Accra, to deflate growing speculations that he intends to resign from office due to his deteriorating health and hand over the baton to his vice, John Mahama. And perhaps to drum home the fact that he is as strong as an ox, President Mills, the NDC National Organiser said, "stood on his feet for well over 30minutes to address the gathering". More coming up....
