NPP Nationwide Prayers To Begin August 30

All regional branches of the NPP are drawing up programmes for the partys prayer meetings which starts on August 30. The Party last week directed all its branches across the country to set up prayer groups, both Christian and Muslim, by August 20. The move is to seek Gods favour in their quest to win the 2012 presidential and parliamentary elections. The party says it is determined to place GOD first in the affairs of their campaign. CitiNews spoke with some regional executives on preparations have gone so far. The Eastern Regional Vice Chairman of the NPP, Alhaji Omar Bodinga said we the NPP Muslims in the Rastern Region have decided that every first Friday of every month, we would recite the Quran so that Allah would give us the guidance towards the 2012 elections. The Christians would also do theirs and the other traditional believers who are in the party would also do theirs. We need the intervention of prayers to help and guide us towards elections 2012. Preparations in the Volta region are also going on in earnest. Regional Chairman Kenwood Nuworsu told Citi News a committee has been constituted to handle the exercise. He said as a first step we have identified a regional coordinator of the program and in every constituency we have constituency chaplain or coordinator who would have oversight responsibility for all volunteers. "These programs are not just party programs, it is more or less, a national program. The prayer is not only for the success of NPP in the forth coming elections but also for the whole of Ghana. "The Volta Regional Coordinator is Rev. George Kunu of Miracle Temple Ministry.
