A 63-Year-Old pastor of The Apostles Revelation Society (ARS) Rev. Koshie Worlanyo Kulevume and one other, Douglas Dogbe, who allegedly turned a church premises during service into a boxing ring, have been arraigned before court for punching the nose of a member of the Church, Charles Dziedzom Agbolosoo during the service which resulted in blood oozing from his nostrils.
The two, who are currently facing trial at the Pokuase Magistrate Court, charged with assault, have been granted a GH�2,000 bail each with a surety by the presiding judge, Mrs. Abena Oppong Adjin-Doku.
Rev. Kulevume and Dogbe had earlier pleaded not guilty to the charge when they first appeared before the court last month.
The prosecutor, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Emelia Asante told the court that, an Accra Fast Track High Court had issued an order restraining the College of Apostles of the ARS, led by Rev. Tenn-Addy and nine others from holding themselves as leaders of the church until the determination of a suit before the court.
ASP Emelia Asante said contrary to the restraining order, Rev. Kulevume, form the Chantan branch of the church, went to the Abelenkp branch on August 8, 2010 and slapped Agbolosoo, without any provocation, and also seized the court order from him and tore it into pieces.
She said later, Douglas Dogbe also led a group of �Macho Boys� into the church, where he punched the nose of Agbolosoo, which resulted in the latter�s broken nose.
She said Agbolosoo and other church members who were assaulted lodged a complaint with the Tesano Police, where medical forms were issued to them to attend hospital.
The prosecutor said, the police, after conducting painstaking investigations, charged Rev. Kulevume and Dogbe with the offence and arraigned them before the court.
The case has been adjourned to September 5, for continuation.
