The New Patriotic Party has accused the government of covering its �ineptitude� with lies in order to deceive susceptible voters over its failure to fulfil its campaign promises.
The National Youth Organiser of the party, Anthony Karbo, was particular about the three northern regions, saying the place has been neglected by the ruling party despite receiving massive votes from the area to ride on to power.
He was addressing the media in Tamale in the Northern Region. Mr Karbo expressed disappointment in Vice President John Dramani Mahama, a native of the area, who he said has failed to ensure that the people get their fair share of the national cake.
�The NDC administration led by H.E. Professor John Evans Mills and his Vice-President John Mahama who indeed is an indigene of this region have totally failed to meet the aspirations of the indigenes in this region and the nation at large.�
Mr Karbo said the NDC government has failed �woefully� in meeting its own campaign promises and manifesto pledges, thereby resorting to �spin and constant churning of lies to cover up for their ineptitude and gross inefficiencies�.
He further listed a litany of promises, which he claimed the government had so far failed to achieve. They included a promise of massive infrastructure, improvement and mechanisation of agriculture, job creation and security.
He also said the Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA), expected to bridge the development gap between the north and south, has been �illusive�. With over two-and-half years of the ruling party coming into power, he maintained, nothing substantial has been done in the region, and demanded to know �what have they really done [in the region]?�
