Man Arrested For Shaving Off Girlfriend's Hair

A Florida man faces domestic battery charges after allegedly shaving off his girlfriend's hair as she slept. The victim called police at around 7 a.m. Aug. 23, shortly after awaking to find her boyfriend, David Bustos, buzzing her hair with electric clippers, according to investigators in Immokalee. The couple reportedly had a fight the night before the incident, and Bustos left his girlfriend's house. He allegedly returned the next morning and entered her room while she was asleep. When the victim awoke, "she kicked him off of her," according to a Collier County Sheriff's Office report obtained by The Huffington Post. The 26-year-old suspect fled the scene before officers arrived, but was arrested the next day at his own residence. The woman suffered a minor cut from the razor, according to authorities. The police report states that deputies found several pieces of braided hair on the victim's bed. Bustos is currently being held on $20,000 bond with a court date set in late September. Oddly enough, Bustos isn't the first to face charges after giving a violent haircut. In July, a Lynwood, Wash. man allegedly broke into his ex-girlfriend's apartment, held her down and shaved portions of her head. The woman told police that the suspect had been jealous during their relationship and that he didn't want other men to find her attractive, KIRO 7 reports. A January incident in Pakistan left a woman without hair and eyebrows. The victim's husband reportedly confessed to shaving his wife and accused her of living elsewhere for months at a time. The woman took refuge at a police shelter, according to Dawn.com.
