Nana Addo Must Render An Unqualified Apology To Muslims Kobby Fiagbe

Editor of the Ghanaian Lens newspaper, Kobby Fiagbe believes flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo, deliberately choose to desecrate the Eid, a day Muslims worldwide consider as holy by reading a major policy statement because it is a way of telling the Muslims that you have not been voting for us so we will not respect your celebrations. He has therefore called on the NPP Flagbearer to render an unqualified apology to all Muslims for his apparent disregard for their religious belief. Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo delivered his major policy statement at the maiden edition of the Liberty Lectures organized by the Danquah Institute on August 31st, which was in honour of the Founders of the Aborigines Right Protection Society on the topic Building a Society of Opportunities. The day also coincided with the celebration of Eid-Ul-Fitr; a day which serves as a climax of Ramadan for all Muslims worldwide. Speaking in an interview on Radio Gold, Kobby Fiagbe claimed he is privy to reliable information that some NPP Muslims cautioned the partys flagbearer against launching his policy statement on the Eid and even urged him to postpone the launch if possible, but he failed to heed to their calls. The Ghanaian Lens newspaper Editor speculated that perhaps because a recent NPP poll indicated that Muslims tend to align themselves more with the NDC than the NPP, Nana Addo was fully convinced that even if he changed the date of his launch, the Muslim community will still not vote for him. Is it possible for him to have held such an event on a Christian holy day? Certainly not, because he knows Christians will not take kindly to it. It is only because he wants to send a message that you are not voting for me that was why he held the meeting. He should rather come and apologize to the Muslim community. I was informed that some Muslims in the party tried to advise him to change the date for the event but he felt all die be die so he didnt listenIt is a way of telling the Muslims that you have not been voting for us so we will not respect your celebrations, Kobby reiterated.
