A key member of a notorious group of armed robbers known as �Satan�s Gang� has been arrested by the police at Dansoman in Accra. Richard Okoe, alias Nii Okoe Diro, and his gang are said to have committed numerous atrocities and were on the police wanted list.
Briefing the Times, the Dansoman Divisional Police Commander, ACP Paul M. Awuni, said on July 27, this year, the suspect and his gang, armed with cutlasses, knives, bicycle chains and pistols, went to a football park at Ebenezer, a suburb of Dansoman, and robbed two persons, Richard Nana Sarpong and Agbofah Raphael, of their mobile phones valued at GH�250, two shirts and GH�220 cash.
They also attacked a mobile phone credit operator identified only as Gifty and took her Nokia credit transfer phone with unspecified units and GH�15 cash.
ACP Awuni said on August 25, the police had information that Okoe and others had been arrested at Dodowa by the Police highway patrol team and sent to the Police headquarters.He was transferred to the Dansoman Police where he is being held in custody for further investigations.
