Chinese Workers Brutalized Ghanaian Employee

The Tesano Divisional Police is investigating an alleged case of assault by some Chinese workers on a Ghanaian male staff of the same company. Chinese workers of a Chinese company called Bedmate which deals in furniture around the Alhaji Lorry Station near Tabora, a suburb of Accra, are alleged to have brutally battered Eric Boi-Mensah, a Ghanaian male staff, on suspicion of stealing. An eye witness told PeaceFM a short while ago that 26 years old Eric Boi-Mensah (the victim), could hardly speak as a result of the severe beatings he received at the hands of his Chinese colleagues. According to the eye witness (name withheld), who later spoke to PeaceFMs Emmanuel Akorli, the condition of Eric was so pathetic and life-threatening so much so that they (some of the residents in the area) reported the case to the Police who asked that Eric be rushed to the Achimota Hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, the Tesano Divisional Police Crime Officer, ASP Donyina-Kyereme, has confirmed the incident and said the matter is seriously being investigated. He revealed that the victim is responding to treatment and appealed to angry residents near the Bedmate Company not to take the law into their own hands.
