The National Youth organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Anthony Karbo, has revealed that the flag bearer of NPP, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, is ready to undergo medical examination to prove his stance that he has never used narcotics in his life. The fire-brand youth activist made this categorical statement following the diplomatic leaked cables which reported the Managing Editor of The Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt, as saying Nana Akufo Addo smokes marijuana. Speaking on last Friday�s edition of The Media Today programme hosted by A.C. Ohene on TV Africa, he refuted speculations making rounds that the flag bearer of the opposition NPP uses drugs, a perception which has been tagged on him unfairly. The Wikileaks cables report which dominated public discourse across the country generated a lot of controversies with fears emanating in the social circles that it would deepen the already politically polarized landscape. The report seems to have denigrated the image and reputation of the flag bearer in the heat of a rising political temperature 15 months to the general election. The national youth organizer asserted strongly that Nana Addo is ever prepared to go for medical scrutiny given the numerous smear campaign by their political opponents who are literally feeding on the leaks to score political points. �Every flag bearer of other political parties in the country should also go for a medical scrutiny to know their health status. �Nana Akufo Addo is ever ready to undergo chemical interrogation and other flag bearers should join Nana Addo to do same,� Karbo emphatically opined.
