Nana Addo - If Iam Voted President...

The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has vowed to restore the Ministry of Fisheries if voted as president in the 2012 general elections. This according to him is necessary to address the various concerns of fisher folks in the country. As the 2012 Presidential candidate of the NPP continued his Listening Campaign Tour in the Central Region, to listen to concerns of electorates, the issue of premix fuel appeared to have dominated the complaints from the fisher folks. Nana Addo however assured he would have regular interactions with them on how to effectively deal with issues that confront them. Hebert Krapah, an aid to Nana Akufo Addo said the fisher folks complained bitterly about the high cost of premix fuel and out-board motors. He noted that a new NPP administration under the leadership of Nana Akufo-Addo would resurrect the fisheries Ministry so their problems are adequately dealt with. He toured communities such as Suprudu, Eyisam, Nankwa, Aboadze, Ekumpoano, Immuna, Ekranful and Esiakyir where residents abandoned everything to catch a glimpse of him. At Suprudu, Nana Addo paid a visit to the Suprudu Methodist School where he was told about the inadequate numbers of teaching staff, poor infrastructure and inadequate teaching facilities as some of the problems hampering basic education in the community. Nana Addo also inspected the broken bridge on the Suprudu River. He learnt that about four different villages including Amisano have been cut off from the community by the River and the only means of crossing over is by boat which sometimes, ends up killing people.
