IEA, IMANI And CDD Must Speak On Nana Addos Drug Addiction Expos Informer Editor

Editor in Chief of the Informer newspaper, Andy Kankam, has dared policy think-tanks, the Center for Democratic Development, (CDD-Ghana), the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) and IMANI-Ghana to break their loud silence on the WikiLeaks expos on Ghana particularly the allegation that Flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has a reputation of being a 'womanizer' and an 'occasional marijuana smoker'. According to him, it is shameful that these pro-NPP Think Tanks have remained silent on the crucial leaks which denigrate the NPP and its flagbearer, adding that it is surprising that all the proactive Think-tanks who used to run to the defense of the NPP and its flagbearer have suddenly hushed up. "...these think-tanks under normal circumstance would have swamped the airwaves with their jaundice analysis as far as it has got to do with Nana Addo and the NPP," he said. Speaking in an interview on Asempa FMs Ekosii sen political program, Andy Kankam alleged that the policy think-tanks have remained silent because they have realized that the WikiLeaks expos is too damaging. Citing an instance where the Ghana News Agency published a report sourced from the IEA website which accused the NPP of abusing incumbency, Andy Kankam said the IEA was quick to issue a denial just to please their paymasters the NPP. He challenged the IEA, IMANI and CDD-Ghana to publicly comment on the WikiLeaks expos regarding the alleged substance abuse by the NPP flagbearer if they claim to be neutral. He was emphatic that everything captured in the leaked diplomatic cable was the gospel truth, pointing out that Embassy officials cannot simply keep records of and also published half-truths or mere gossips which serves no useful purpose. He further claimed that intelligence reports available to him indicate that most members of the NPP have regretted voting for Nana Akufo-Addo as the party's flagbearer, and have even been murmuring that if they had the chance to vote again, they would never chose him as their leader.
