UK Based Ghanaian Ahmed Obeng Wants To Play For Black Stars

Ahmed Obeng, a Nineteen (19)year-old skillful forward with Rushall Olympic in the UK, has knocked at the door of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) urging them to consider calling him up for national duties. Originating from Ghana in the Brong Ahafo Region, the front man began his career by becoming the first player to progress from the Bloxwich reserve section to the first team and during season 2009-10, he also featured for the Walsall College in the ESFA U-18s Colleges Trophy. His 10 goals ensured he ended the campaign as the third top scorer, the most crucial of which came in the Evo-Stik League First Division South Play-Off Semi-Final victory against Brigg Town at Dales Lane and the Walsall Senior Cup Final success at the Bankss Stadium. With the pace and trickery to cause defenders untold problems, he linked up with the Pics during summer 2010 from local outfit Bloxwich United AFC after impressing in the surprise Walsall Senior Cup Final defeat at the Bankss Stadium at the end of last term. Increasingly, young Ghanaians in the Diaspora are queuing due to the form of the Black Stars, knocking at the doors of the GFA to either switch nationality or earn a call up. Players like Kevin-Prince Boateng and Adam Kwarasey with dual citizenships have already switched nationality and have justified their inclusion in the Black Stars set-up perfectly. Arsenal youngster Emmanuel Frimpong is the latest on board to earn a call-up after losing Danny Welbeck to England. The GFA we hope, will do its best to snap up Ahmed Obeng to justify his inclusion before England gets hold of him as they have already started courting him.
