Dr. Kwame Nkruamah's Vision Must Be Implemented Now

Its a general knowledge that, Ghana had a repository of ideas for the nations developmental forward march in Dr. Kwame Nkrumah when he served as the first President of the new nation early in the 1950s. The immense services we get from the Akosombo Dam among other state owned corporations go a long way to enliven the memory of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. Within a brief moment of his tenure the young nation witnessed an unprecedented proliferation of factories inter alia shoe factory, meat factory, and tire factory etc. all in the name of ensuring a strong workforce in the country. In education, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah sought to the building of a lot of basic and secondary schools in the country. He understood the truth that a literate society is the backbone of any surviving nation on this earth. He made scholarship available to students and made education absolutely free for the citizenry. We can recount names and support the Nkrumahs administration extended to some of the personalities at our nations forefront today. The list is endless. So on this day, as the whole African continent reflect on the birth and lost of the illustrious son of Africa, we the members and leadership of The Convention Forum (TCF) call on all the citizenry of Africa to remember the strengths of Dr. Nkrumah which have secured for us a legacy of a free continent. We also use this platform to call on the government of the Mills-led-administration to look at the educational policy of Ghana which is fraught with many challenges. The WAEC led computer system of placement for Senior High School must be critically looked at since it has spurned more problems than expected. There are reports of students with the required pass yet could not make it to the list of the computer school placement. This has led to many parents and their children disillusioned with the system. This indeed was not the dream of Osagyefo and the whole nation must abhor leaders who are parochial and would always want to have their way with regards to developmental policy. TCF believed Ghana can do better than its current performance. We need to priority the younger generation and that is what Osagyefo did extremely well during his time. Our generation must start now! God Bless the Memory of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah God Bless The Convention Forum (TCF) God bless Mother Ghana
