FONKAR Is Not NDC Richard Quashigah

THE PROPAGANDA Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Richard Quashigah, has made a shocking pronouncement that the NDC does not recognize Friends Of Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings (FONKAR), a group loyal to the wife of the partys founder. Mr. Quashigah, on Monday night, told Metro News that the leadership of the NDC did not have anything to do with FONKAR since the party did not recognize the group. According to him, members of FONKAR had consistently thrown the NDC into disrepute due to their public pronouncements, a situation which had brought some sorts of shame to the party. They [FONKAR] must find a way of doing things that agree with the partys structures because the party has a constitution, he stressed. Mr. Quashigah also disassociated President Atta Mills from the Cape Coast incident where a group of NDC thugs prevented the former First Lady and FONKAR from holding a thank you event at the Towns Hall, a place they had duly paid for. The propaganda secretary said the president knew nothing about the unfortunate incident and that a move by FONKAR to drag the name of the president into the incident was unfortunate. FONKAR has been very critical of their own government following the supposed inaction of the president to act to discipline majority of his appointees who the group described as corrupt and incompetent. Nana Konadu has maintained that she will not relent in her efforts to fight for the ordinary party members at the grassroots level who are suffering and are not benefiting from the Mills-Mahama administration.
