Wrap Of Ghanaian Players In Uefa Champions League

Midfielder Wakaso Mubarak was the only Ghanaian player who saw action on Tuesday night in the Uefa Champions League. Wakaso replaced Brazilian-born Spanish international Marco Senna in the 84th minute but his impact could not save Villarreal from a 2-0 defeat to Napoli. Ghana captain John Mensah continued his bench warming exercise for Olympique Lyon who smoothly edged Dinamo Zagreb 2-0 thanks to goals from Baftimbi Gomis and Bakary Kon. The victory has helped move Lyon to second place behind leaders Real Madrid who thrashed Ajax 3-0 at the Stadio Bernabeu. Midfielder Sulley Muntari watched from his home in Milan as his Inter Milan won a topsy-turvy Group B game at CSKA Moscow 3-2. Goals from Lucio, Gianpiero Pazzini and Mauro Zarate ensured a second straight victory Claudio Ranieri as Inter boss. Muntari was not registered for the competition.
