Four people have been confirmed dead and several injured in a fatal accident about an hour ago at an STC junction near Mallam on the Kasoa road. According to Eyewitness account an articulated truck burst its tyre, lost control, veered off the road and run into a passenger bus packed at a bus stop. Some passersby and persons standing around bus stop were run over by the truck. Between seventeen to twenty people are said to be severely injured and have been rushed to the Korle Bu teaching hospital and other health facilities around the area for treatment. Police officers are currently at the scene to help ease the traffic that has built up as a result of the accident. The vehicles involved in the accident are a DAF Truck with registration number GT 7508 N, a Benz 207 bus with registration number GT 7653 X, a Nissan Urvan bus with registration number GR 7474-09. The rest are a Hyundai Grace with registration number GE 8510-09, a Hyundai taxi with registration number GT 2553-10, a MAN Diesel truck with registration number GT 8014 U and an Urvan bus with registration number GS 3476 Y.
