NDC Government Is Too Slow Sekou Nkrumah

Dr. Sekou Nkrumah, a son of Ghanas first president, has accused the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) of being too slow to execute projects inherited from the erstwhile Kufuor-led administration. Dr Nkrumah said most of the projects, especially the National Health Insurance Scheme have stalled, despite the government declaring 2011 an Action Year. The government is too slow; action speaks louder than words, the staunch President John Evans Atta-Mills critic said on Asempa FM. Nkrumah, who resigned from the NDC recently, was not amused with the way the government was handling the national housing project and was of the view that it will not serve its purpose if it was left to move on as it is. When you are talking about commitment and you are talking about housing the people then it is not this kind of housing deals were talking about, he said. We are talking about flats, you see you build flats for people; one bedroom or two and thats what people want. Not houses [because] they are too elitist and for a privileged few. Im talking about flats that people can afford because I have seen it in Eastern Europe and that is what people can afford. He observed that it appears the government has lost its bearing with all its experience hands. Nkrumah added: PNDC 10 years, NDC under Rawlings eight years and even the president as vice president for four years so with all these experience, how come you (NDC) come into government and you dont seem to know your left from your right, it is terrible.
