The Government and Hospital Pharmacists Association has served notice to lay down their tools in about a fortnight if the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission fails to migrate them onto the Single Spine Salary Structure (SSSS). The public hospital pharmacists claim like their colleague doctors, who are on strike already, their concerns have been ignored. The chairman of the association, Stephen Quarcoo, in an interview with Citi News said the pharmacists will not hesitate withdrawing their services in two weeks time if their issues are not addressed. Crunch meeting Meanwhile, the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission together with the striking doctors are expected to meet with the National Labour Commission (NLC) on Wednesday as they resume negotiations that hit deadlock days ago. The deadlock forced the doctors to declare a strike last Friday, which is still ongoing. President John Evans Atta-Mills during his tour of the Greater Accra region on Tuesday appealed to the doctors to consider calling off their strike while government addresses their concerns. The NLC on Tuesday confirmed to Citi News that it had written to the two bodies to enter into compulsory arbitration. The national leadership of the doctors is expected to react to the president�s appeal either before or after its meeting with the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission at the Labour Commission.
