Trainee Nurses & Midwives Association Members To Face Sanctions

The Ghana Nurses and Midwives Trainee Association has directed its members to return to work. Those who fail to return to their posts by Monday will face disciplinary action. This directive follows the calling off of their strike by its executives. The secretary of the Association, Courage Kwame-Kuma, said some of the concerns raised have been addressed by the Ministry of Health, and steps are being taken to resolve the rest. Over 30,000 trainee nurses and midwives nationwide embarked on strike earlier this month to protest the poor conditions under which they work. Mr. Kwame-Kuma indicated that they reached this decision because of the number of lives that are being lost.
