Prez Mills NEVER Endorsed Anybody Koku Anyidoho

Communications Director at the Presidency, Koku Anyidoho has sought to dispel reports that President John Mills has flouted the partys laid down rules governing the election of parliamentarians by openly endorsing incumbent NDC MP for Ablekuma South Fritz Baffour. According to him, President Mills only commended Fritz Baffour for the good work he has done in his constituency but stopped short of endorsing him. President Mills, during a recent tour of the Ablekuma South constituency in the Greater Accra region, is reported to have made a statement which some judge to be an endorsement of Hon. Fritz Baffour for the 2012 elections even though the party is yet to open nominations for the seat. This has led to some consternation within the constituency, with some party members said to be unhappy with the Presidents pronouncement as they believe it will lead to an unfair primary. But Mr. Anyidoho who was speaking in an interview on Asempa FMs Ekosii Sen political program, pointed out President Mills, being fully aware of the rules of the game would not go contrary to it by endorsing one candidate, particular when the party has not opened nominations for the seat. I just want to clarify the point that President Mills endorsed Fritz Baffours second term candidature. President only commended him for a good work well done so it was not an endorsement, he elucidated. He also added that President Mills commendation notwithstanding; it does not stop anybody from contesting Fritz Baffour for the Ablekuma South parliamentary seat. President Mills knows the rules of the game that he must not interfere in any local politics in terms of endorsing somebody. He just commended him and the AMA boss for working hard but it doesnt stop anybody from contesting him, I want to make that fact clear, he said, adding that the media only placed a slant on what President Mills said when he visited the constituency.
