Ghana midfielder Mohammed Abu is gunning for the Goal of the Season award in Norway after scoring an amazing goal over the weekend. The 20-year-old scored with a stunning screamer from 30 yards as his club Stromgodset drew 1-1 with Sogndal on Sunday. Abu capped off his excellent week with a goal for his Norwegian side that will further enhance his status in the game. The youngster picked his spot just after the centre line before firing the long strike into the top corner. Norwegian television stations have been showing the strike since Monday night and the goal has been pencilled down for the Goal of the Season award. His impressive showing in the game comes in the week when Manchester City extended his contract as he is only on loan at Stromgodset. He also made his debut for the Black Stars last week when they played Sudan in a crucial Africa Cup of Nations qualifier which they won 2-0. Abu started in the goalless drawn friend with Nigeria in midweek. Three Ghanaians were in action for Stromgodset with Razak Nuhu and Adam Kwarasey and Abu playing the entire duration of the game. With just four matches of the season remaining, Stromgodset are eighth in the table.
