Managing Editor of the �Insight� newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr., has hit hard at the leadership of the Ghana Medical Association (GMA) for allegedly contracting an ardent activist of the opposition New Patriotic Party as their media liaison. He described as �reckless� the decision by the GMA leadership to engage the services of NPP loyalist, Kofi Dokyi Ampaw aka Kofi 1234, more especially at the time when some section of the public are bent on creating a link between the strike action by the doctor�s with the opposition NPP. The Enquirer newspaper, in a publication on Friday, October 21st, alleged that �the GMA has contracted an NPP ex-convict for its hatchet job of luring senior journalists and hosts of morning show programs of some selected radio stations to help them fight their cause in the public�. Contributing to discussions on Radio Gold�s �Alhaji and Alhaji� political discussion program, Kwesi Pratt said he is �totally disgusted by the GMA�s decision to contract an NPP member, stressing that it shows the leadership of GMA is completely out of touch�. �I read the Enquirer newspaper and I saw the headline, GMA engages ex-convict. For me the issue is not about them engaging an ex-convict but the problem however is with engaging this particular personality everybody knows to be a dye-in-the-wool NPP member, speaking on NPP platforms and campaigning for the NPP, especially at a time a link has erroneously being made between the doctors� strike and NPP,� he argued. The outspoken senior journalist said he would have taken on the leadership of GMA had he been a doctor for giving the association a political coloration. �What damaging blow can the leadership of GMA deliver beyond employing a publicly declared NPP apologist as their media relation, this is so reckless and unbelievable and if I were a doctor, I would take the leadership of the GMA on for trying to destroy perhaps the legitimate case of the association because this gives the GMA a political coloration. I�m totally disgusted by this development and it shows that the leadership of the GMA is completely out of touch,� he criticized.
