One of Nollywood�s media houses says actress Ini Edo has started going to church in pursuit of �something.� However, the outifit, which is described as one of the best and aggressive media on the continent, was not bold enough to state what that �something� was. �That is what they claim Ini Edo has now become. According to the source who divulged that to me, the hairy wife of Philip Ehiagwina, a U.S based Edo born businessman, is now a regular face at the branch of Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries in Victoria Garden City, Lekki, Lagos. I was told that she was seriously looking up to God for something and my sincere prayer is that the almighty God answers all her good prayers in the mighty name of Jesus�. This was circulated on a number of Nollywood websites including nigeriafilms.com. The actress herself is yet to confirm if she has other reasons for going to church other than seeking salvation. She began her acting career in 2000 after she was discovered by a producer at an audition she had attended. Impressed by her performance, he gave her a role in his movie. Ini gave the role her best and since then, it has been one challenging movie role after another. Having worked her way to the A-List in Nollywood and with over 100 movies to her credit, Edo has proved to be one of the most talented actresses in Nollywood. Aside her acting career, she is also involved in charity work. Despite her tight work schedule, she makes time to visit and assist the less privileged. She is also a Glo Ambassador, which is arguably the biggest endorsement deal in Nollywood. Born in Nigeria, Ini comes from a family of four; she is the second of four siblings. She graduated from the University of Uyo where she obtained a Diploma in Theatre Arts and recently completed her Bachelors Degree program at the University of Calabar, where she studied English. She got married over a year ago but it is unclear if she has children.
