Fifa Orders Mandate For Technical Directors

Fifa has directed national football associations in Africa to put their various technical directors on a term-based contract for at least four years. This directive was given during the final of a four-day Fifa seminar held in Ghana to improve the knowledge base of General Secretaries and Technical Directors. Football associations in Africa often pick their technical directors on adhoc basis but this Fifa says must stop. The technical directors of national associations should be given at least a four-year mandate on contractual basis, Fifas Manager in charge of Development Programmes in Africa Francesco Bruscoli said at the seminar. This is not a commitment but rather an obligation and we hope for those associations who are not practicing this at the moment make it a must to start immediately. This according to Fifa, will ensure that programmes and innovations of the various technical directors are sustained over a period of time.
