Last Batch Of 'Would-Be' Pilgrims Leaves Tomorrow

Government has promised all paid Muslims pilgrims for this years Hajj will be issued with Visas by tomorrow to enable them travel to Saudi Arabia to participate in the pilgrimage. The fate of the last batch of prospective Muslim Pilgrims, hang in the balance following failure to procure visas for them by the National Hajj Committee. This years hajj starts on the 3rd of November but there were no indications the committee would succeed in acquiring visas for them by the National Hajj Committee. However, speaking on the Big Issues a while ago, the deputy Energy minister, Inusah Fuseini said all the irregularities have been fixed, assuring the stranded pilgrims of travelling securing visas soon for the trip. As I speak, the Hajj Commission is collating all the names of paid pilgrims to ferry them to Mecca so we are trying to put in effect the contractual relationship between with the pilgrims. "The Saudi ambassador has assured that all pilgrims will have their visas to travel. The Deputy Minister explained that the backlog of stranded pilgrims resulted from the fact that their numbers had exceeded the required quota given Ghana by the Saudi Arabian embassy.
