Police Urges Public To Be More Security Alert

The police has appealed to the public to be more security alert as it stepped up the fight to rein in criminals in the society. Police Inspector Francis Nimo of the Crime Scene Management Team for the Northern Command said the people needed to show some responsibility for their personal security. He said people should exercise good judgment in their conversations on phone, especially when they are in commercial vehicles. Additionally they should not hesitate to give out information on suspicious persons to the police. He was speaking at a public education forum held at the Amakom Grace Baptist Church in Kumasi. It formed part of the effort by the Ashanti Regional Police Command to tackle crime as preparations towards Christmas gather momentum. Police Inspector Nimo Nimo reiterated the determination of the police to carry the fight to criminals and bring them to justice but this would require public cooperation and support. The Reverend Robert Asante, Senior Pastor of the Church, appealed to the police to be fair, firm and professional in the discharge of their duties to win public confidence.
