Angry NDC Youth Vandalise Party Property

Some aggrieved National Democratic Congress (NDC) youth in Bulenge in the Wa East constituency vandalised party property in the constituency due to the disqualification of their preferred candidate for the parliamentary race. According to the youth, the constituency executives are imposing a candidate, Amin Salifu, the district chief executive, on them. He is the only candidate out of three to have qualified from the vetting that took place on Monday. One of the disqualified candidates Mohammed Saani Seidu, who is the preferred choice of the angry youth is said to have put up some developmental structures in the constituency. The irate youth, according to information available to Citi News have therefore resolved to destroy most of the structures built for the party by Seidu to register their dissatisfaction with the vetting outcome. The youth are also furious about the reasons given by the vetting committee which inferred that Seidu is not a member of the NDC. The NDC general secretary for Wa East constituency, Munawar Ishahak, confirmed the chaotic situation to Citi News. Constituency level elections for parliamentary aspirants are scheduled for the 19th of this month.
