Ghana striker Derek Asamoah is counting on his performance in the friendly with Gabon to win him a place in the final 23-man squad for next years Africa Cup of Nations.
The Pohang Steelers forward came off the bench to snatch a late win for the Black Stars against the Azingo Nationale in Paris on Tuesday and believes his immense contribution should earn him a permanent spot while quieten his critics.
All I do is take one game at a time. Some people knew me, some did not so it was very important to show people what I am about in that little period in the second half and what I can bring in the tournament, he told Citi FM.
I have watched Ghana in previous tournament and I feel I will be an ideal player to make the team stronger.
Personally I feel I have done well, I did what I can. Its up to the coach to put together the squad but I think I have done well in the position where I can make an impact.
Asmoah also insist playing in the South Korean top flight by no means affects the quality he brings to bear on the Ghana national team.
The Korean league at the moment is the best team in the Asia and the team I am playing for is the most successful in the whole of Asia. Its a very competitive league and will match a lot of European leagues.
You only have to look at the Korea national team and you watched Ghana versus Korea and a lot of players play in the Korean league. You need to be very very mattered and very dedicated because Korean people work very very hard, he added.
