Konadu Boys Fight NDC

MEMBERS OF the Friends of Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings (FONKAR) have threatened to deal with any individual or group of persons in the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) who tries to undermine their efforts. This follows a purported conference held by some persons they described as mischievous and nonentities in the Central regional capital of Cape Coast, somewhere last week, claiming to have resigned their positions as executives of FONKAR. A statement issued and signed by the regional chairman and coordinator of the group that has sworn an unflinching support for the Rawlingses, Kojo Hobo Koomson, and David Forthgill Bentil respectively, said, None of our card-bearing members has resigned from the organization. Apart from that, it said, The executives and the entire members of the Central Regional FONKAR are united and we are solidly behind Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings and President Rawlings, the founder of our party. They believed the act was orchestrated by people they described as ungrateful and disgraceful elements in the NDC who were brought into the political limelight by Mr and Mrs Rawlings, pointing accusing fingers at regional minister Ama Benyiwa Doe who, according to them, was discovered by Mr. Rawlings, nurtured and clothed by Mrs. Rawlings. They also mentioned the names of the partys regional communications director, Bernard Allotey Jacobs, nicknamed NDC Bob Okala, regional chairman Samuel Adu Yeboah and regional organiser Abeiku Aggrey as corroborators of the dastardly act. The group warned that those who are bent on destroying Mrs. Rawlings and her family from within or outside of the NDC must desist from it or be well prepared for the fight of their lives. FONKAR, they indicated, was a well organised group and due-paying whose card-bearing members were ready to die for the Rawlingses, adding that they did not deal with ingrates and hypocrites. In the past, they noted, several of such attempts had been made by their own party members in the NDC to destroy the reputation of the Rawlingses, all to no avail, and yet they were still trying, noting that they have failed and they will continue to fail. They asked President Mills to call these mischievous elements to order else he will suffer for it since we, the Central region FONKAR, will do everything within our power to make Nana Konadu and Jerry Rawlings relevant. The Central Regional chapter of FONKAR said it was preparing to hold a mega press conference on November 26, 2011 to re-affirm its commitment to defend and protect the Rawlingses and to also state its position in the party and national politics.
