Vodafone Reconstruct Senchi Methodist School

In a unique demonstration of employee volunteerism, staff of Vodafone Ghana have reconstructed Senchi Methodist Primary School in the Eastern Region and handed over the six classroom block to the authorities of the school at a colourful ceremony. The act of volunteerism by Vodafone employees forms part of Vodafone Ghana Foundations activity which allows employees to devote paid time to community projects of their choice and further gives employees the opportunity to share a wealth of knowledge, skills, talent and immense goodwill. Employees do this by scouting their communities and identifying projects that touch and significantly improve the lives of other people. Handing over the school to the Headmistress of the school, the Chief Executive Officer of Vodafone, Kyle Whitehill remarked that our employees are our strongest link to our communities; this scheme empowers them to do something they feel passionate about. We are proud of what they have done today. They have impacted the lives of the pupils of this school and the benefits will be felt for generations to come. He added that we do not underestimate what education can do in the lives of these students and what development education can bring to this community. On her part, Head mistress of Senchi Methodist Primary School Gladys Owusu expressed her gratitude to Vodafone for the kind gesture. The Senchi Methodist Primary School has a population of over 300 hundred students.
