"Ghanaians Asked To Appreciate Government�s Development Efforts"

Mr Isaac Kodobisah, Ho Municipal Chief Executive, on Saturday called on Ghanaians to appreciate efforts of the Government at developing the country. �The government has done so much in three years and needed to be commended and encouraged to do more,� he said. Mr Kodobisah made the call at the 11th Zendo Glimetsoza celebration at Klefe, near Ho. Zendo Glimetsoza is a festival, celebrated by the people of Klefe, Klikor, Kpeve, Tsorxor and Tsibu to mark their migration from Notsie, Togo, to their present settlements. Mr Kodobisah said though four years was too short a period for any government to fulfill its promises, the National Democratic Congress administration had done so much so far and must be appreciated by all. He said Ho; the Volta Regional capital, for instance has recorded much improvement in educational infrastructure, sanitation and road networks. Mr Kodobisah said with the current population of Ghana it was impossible for any government to address the socio-economic challenges of the country in four years and asked the people to exercise restrain while the government improved their living standards. �We have improved the School Feeding Programme, eliminated schools under trees and expanding the National Youth Programme among others,� he said. Mr Joseph Amenowode, Volta Regional Minister, said all promises made to the people of the region would be redeemed. He urged the people to remain united and support the government to redeem the promises. Togbe Afele Dzaga X, Paramount Chief of Klefe, in a speech read on his behalf, appealed to the Government to build classroom blocks and staff bungalows for the Senior Technical School, established by the community. Togbe Afele also asked Government to provide potable water, electricity and repair roads at Kpeve, Tsibu, Klikor and Tsorxor to accelerate development.
