Nana Akufo-Addo: No Threat Can Stop Me

The flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo, has served notice to the ruling NDC that he will not be cowed by any threat aimed at forcing him into submission or put his life in danger. The Communications Director at the Presidency, Koku Anyidoho, dominated the headlines last week when he granted an interview to a London-based network Focus Radio and threatened to deal with NPP stalwarts should they dare instigate violence in Ghana next year during the elections. Akufo-Addo gave him a reply at the UDS Wa Campus when he met the students to end the first day of his tour of the Upper West region. He toured the Wa Central constituency. He said as a citizen of Ghana he will continue to speak his mind until the right thing is done in government. I want to assure you of one thing, no amount of lies and insults against my person or threats to me are going to put me off, the flagbearer charged. As a citizen of this country, Im going to speak my mind as everybody is entitled to do. Again, let me repeat that, no amount of insults, lies or propaganda, no amount of threats directed at my person are going to stop me. I have never supported the use of violence in politics; not one single day have I been involved in anything to do with violence; but one thing that I have always stood for, I will never sit down to allow my fellow human being to cheat me, Nana Addo added.
