A Deputy Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Samuel Awuku, says the results of Saturday�s round of parliamentary primaries organized by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in some orphan constituencies in five regions in the southern sector, where some big guns were soundly beaten, indicates President Mills would have even lost had he decided to contest any of the seats. To him, it is a shadow of events to come and spells impending doom for the party. The Deputy NPP Communications Director claims some District Chief Executives (DCEs) belonging to the Mills� faction who had a premonition of the impending doom, run for cover and sought refuge under the process of �acclamation�. Speaking on an Accra based radio station Oman FM, he particularly singled out Minister of Agriculture, Kwesi Ahwoi�s failed attempt to win the Agona East primary saying his defeat clearly makes nonsense of a report that he (Kwesi Ahwoi) is the best performing minister in Mills� government. To him, his defeat is an indictment on President Mills� leadership and a clear message from the NDCs unhappy foot soldiers. He maintained that had President Mills contested any of the parliamentary primaries, he would have lost, considering how his preferred candidate, the Agric Minister was badly bruised. �Mills� best minister who is Mr. Ahwoi could not even emerge successful. He has been soundly beaten to the extent that I know for sure that he will find it difficult to sleep. For Kwesi Ahwoi who is his best card to lose this election� maybe some people do not understand who and what the Ahwoi brothers are. Even one of them is now the Prime Minister of Ghana by de-facto. To vote against a de-facto Prime Minister�s brother is really significant,� he said.
