CPP Demands Unconditional Apology For Dr Nduom

The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Convention Peoples Partys (CPP) has called upon its National Chairman, Madam Samia Yaba Nkrumah to render an unconditional apology to Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom, 2008 Flagbearer of the party. The Committee also asked her to retract the abuses she heaped on Dr Nduoms personality and character in the media. Dr Theophilus Kwofie, Ashanti Regional Chairman of the party made the call at a press conference in Accra on Wednesday to call off an intended NEC meeting. He said allegations implicating and associating Dr Nduom with the work of the NEC are false and calculated attempts to tarnish his hard won reputation and image. Dr Kwofie said the purpose and objective of organising the NEC was met and expressed gratitude to those who contributed to the success. He said the announcement of the dates for filing of nominations for both Parliamentary and Presidential by the Central Committee of the party on November 29 settles all their worries. We believe that the holding of the hurriedly arranged Central Committee meeting on Tuesday November 29, was as a result of the discussion that have taken place between the General Secretary and our national leader on this issue, he said. Dr Kwofie urged members of the party to go back to their various constituencies and renew their strength and vigour to ensure a resounding victory of the party in Election 2012.
