The Jomoro Constituency branch of the National Democratic Congress Party (NDC) says it is not disturbed by the intention of Samia Yaba Nkrumah, the incumbent Member of Parliament to contest the seat again. The District Chief Executive (NDC), Mr Sylvester Nuamah Dadieh who made this known in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Half Assini, said it is clearly known in the area that the NDC would take back the seat in the 2012 elections. �The love with which Madam Samia Nkrumah was voted into power by the people of Jomoro has now evaporated�, adding that most of the people have regretted for not voting for the NDC. According to him, Madam Nkrumah was voted into power in 2008 by most women who sympathised with her on gender solidarity after voting consistently for the NDC male candidates for the past 16 years. Mr Dadieh said the people of Jomoro District have never forgotten the numerous development projects the NDC governments did for the people. He mentioned some of major projects the ruling NDC has done to alleviate the suffering of the people as construction of the Axim-Mpataba-Elubo Trunk Road and the Half Assini-Mpataba Road. He listed other projects such as the extension of electricity to the district in 1986 and construction of school buildings. The DCE said the people have now realised their mistake for voting for a Member of Parliament not with the ruling government, adding that such a situation does not speed up development. Mr Dadieh said the Atta Mills government has given Jomoro its fair share of the national cake, which includes the connection of 24 communities to the National Electricity Grid, construction of school buildings to replace schools under trees and provision of teachers� quarters in some schools. The DCE said government has awarded on contract, the tarring of the Tikobo No. 1-Beyin Road. He urged members of the party to come together as one body after a successful primaries and campaign vigorously to win the elections. Mr Dadieh expressed the hope that the people would vote massively for the NDC parliamentary candidate, Wing Commander Francis Kabenla Anaman and the President, John Evans Atta Mill in the 2012 general election. He appealed to supporters and members of the party to do clean campaign devoid of insults and personal attacks, violence and hatred.
