The organizers of Ghallywood Film Festival had an awards ceremony to honour some selected movie stars who have contributed immensely towards the progress of the movie industry in Ghana.
Some of the movie icons honoured included John Dumelo, Mac Jordan Amartey, William Addo, Nii Addokwei Moffatt and a host of others.
The awards ceremony was held at the Ghallywood Film Academy located on the Accra-Ada road in the Greater Accra region.
The organizers announced this at the official launch of the festival held at the Ghallywood Film Academy which was attended by a large number of personalities in the movie industry in Ghana.
Launched in 2005, Ghallywood started its film academy about two years ago and currently has a number of structures in place at its film village for effective teaching and learning.
The academy runs courses in film directing, digital editing, camera work, lighting and make-up.
