JJs Boy Dumps NDC

A well-known devotee of Rawlings in Kumasi and a former Deputy National Public Relation Officer (CEO) of Movement for Konadu 2012 Commandante Abu Sadiqque has defected to the newly-formed United Front Party (UFP.) He told Daily Guide that the harsh treatment being meted to Mr. Rawlings and his wife, Nana Konadu compelled him to leave the NDC to join UFP, which consists mainly of the youth. I left the NDC because I could no longer withstand the hard treatment being meted to Mr. Rawlings by our own party members some of whom called the NDC founder a dog. Abu Sadiqque, who is currently the National Organizer of UFP, said he has so far managed to woo about 500 FONKAR members from the NDC to the UFP, stressing that he would win more souls for UFP. He said the Rawlingses would forever remain his role models in politics, adding, Even the former President Mr. Rawlings and his wife Nana Konadu who formed the NDC are being treated harshly and has absolutely been isolated by the current leadership. This proved to me that those of us that have unflinching support for the Rawlingses dont have any future in the NDC, especially the current leadership so I decided to leave. He said the leadership of the NDC was victimizing members of the party that support Nana Konadu and her husband, noting they treat the FONKAR people like spies. Abu Sadiqque noted that he was uncomfortable in the NDC so as a young politician he decided to leave the ruling party and join the UFP where his views would be welcomed. Though he is now a national executive member of the UFP, he said he would forever remain a FONKAR boy, explaining that FONKAR is not a political party but a group of people that support our mother Nana Konadu. Why should Nana Konadu leave a party which belongs to her husband and contest the polls as an independent candidate? he quizzed. He stated that it was not prudent for Nana Konadu to contest the 2012 national elections as an independent candidate, noting that if Nana Konadu takes such action they would lose the NDC. On his personal assessment of President Mills, he hurriedly stated that Ghanaians should reject the NDC and its leader in the 2012 polls because they have failed the electorate woefully. He said President Mills betrayed former President Rawlings after he toiled to make him president of the country, calling on the electorate to reject Mills in 2012. Abu Sadiqque vowed to campaign vigorously to woo more people from the NDC to help the partys presidential candidate, Akwasi Addae aka Odike to become president in 2012.
