Sinking STX Project A Disappointment - Atta Mills

President John Evans Atta Mills has expressed disappointment at the fact that not a single block has been laid after Parliament approved the almost botched STX Housing Project. The president was for the first time in a long while commenting on the project, which was meant to provide about 30,000 housing units for the countrys security agencies. Parties overseeing the STX project have in recent times been in and out of court due to lack of judgment and the indecision on the part of the two players - STX Korea and GKA Airports Company Limited (STX Ghana). Speaking to Radio Gold on Friday, President Mills said, It is a matter of disappointment; we must honestly admit that since Parliament approved the bill we havent seen any work done. He also added that although he has not been given the latest briefing on the developments of the STX project, if it is becoming impossible to execute, government would wash its hands off it and apologise to Ghanaians. The Works and Housing Minister, Alban Bagbin, had earlier hinted Citi News the government will disengage from the project and will force the feuding parties to cough out any cost incurred during the process.
