Nduom Applies For Certificate For New Party Thursday

The former flagbearer of the Convention Peoples Party(CPP), Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom, is expected to apply for provisional certification for his new political party from the Electoral Commission on Thursday. Dr. Nduoms new party is expected to be fully fledged and launched in February. He is currently in the Volta region collating signatories to that effect as required by the electoral laws of Ghana. Mr. Richard Keelson, a member of Dr Nduoms Independent Progressive Movement, told Citi News that Mr. Nduoms decision to get a certificate for his party is in line to build a successful party right from the grass roots level. He stated that Mr. Nduoms trip to the Volta region would also help him meet with numerous people who have expressed interest in joining his new party. He is using the opportunity to meet with many people who have expressed interest in joining the movement, Keelson stated. Some of the things that we will be doing will be nationwide so we are beginning with the Volta region. Dr. Nduom announced he is no longer interested in contesting the presidential elections on the ticket of the CPP and will name a new political party in February this year.
