"CPP Will Survive Without Nduom"

The 2008 running mate of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP), Dr. Abu Sakara Foster, has laughed off claims made by some critics of the party that it will go into extinction following the resignation of his former boss, Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom. Dr. Nduom, who is largely touted as the partys main financier, resigned a week ago to form a new political movement that will eventually transform into a political party the Progressive Peoples Party. The move has been seen as a destabilizer for the CPP which has seen turbulent times recently. Speaking to Citi News however, Dr. Sakara noted that the claim that the party will break up, belittles the journey it embarked on since its formation decades ago. I am surprise that anybody should say that, not because I have no regard for Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduoms competence, capability and his hard work, but because there have been greater men than him who have come and gone from this party. But this party is still here, he said. Dr. Sakara argued that the CPP had survived stiffer debilitation from the Ghanaian political landscape.
