Citi News is reliably informed that some NDC bigwigs in the Northern region are madly rushing for newly created districts that are anticipated to be confirmed as additional constituencies ahead of the December general elections.
Immediately government announced the creation of additional districts in various parts of the country, there was anticipation that the EC would turn them into constituencies as well.
One of such areas is the Sagnarigu district which was carved out of the Tamale Metropolis.
Names including Mr. A. B. A Fuseini of Graphic Communications, Madam Olivia Yahaya, Northern regional Coordinator of the Ghana School Feeding Programme and Mohammed Adam Amin Abio, Northern regional Coordinator of the National Youth Employment Programme have so far popped up as some of the lobbyist.
Chief Sofo Azorka, the NDC�s Northern regional Chairman confirmed the phenomenon to Citi News and disclosed that eleven people have shown interest in the Sagnarigu area if the creation of the new constituencies becomes feasible.
�The truth is that currently those who are interested are eleven people and it is so because people are expecting the Electoral Commission to create additional constituencies so far as the creation of the new district is concerned� he stated.
