Delta, United Airlines Customers Unhappy With Services

Some aggrieved passengers of Delta and United Airlines have begun signing onto a petition to get management of the airlines to address allegations of poor customer relations meted out to some Ghanaian passengers. According to them, passengers from other continents are treated better than those from Africa. They claim passengers are often yelled at and not attended to. They also allege that the airlines used by the two airlines en route to Ghana and Nigeria are usually old and appear unsafe to board. One of the passengers and also the lead petitioner, Julia Akosuah Awusi told Citi Business News despite continuous complaints their concerns have not been heard. This type of stuff happens to the Ghanaians and Nigerian flights all the time, and I think it is about time we get the word out there that we cannot stand for this anymore. We pay the same dollars and euros as anyone else and so we should demand the same level of service they provide their European, Asian and Israeli clients, she said. However, reacting to the allegations, Delta Airlines in a statement to Citi Business News said the airline is committed to providing first class services and facilities for all passengers all over the world including its customers in Ghana. It said, Operating in Ghana for five years, Delta has contributed and invested heavily to promote the airline industry as well as provide good services to our customers in Ghana. In June this year, Delta in partnership with KLM, pre-financed the construction of two new boarding gates at Accras Kotoka airport to improve airport facilities for our customers. It further said Delta has undertaken service training programs and changed on board menus to feature selections that are more appealing to its Ghanaian customers.
