Attorney-General Granted More Time Over Woyomes Judgment Debt Case

A Commercial Court in Accra has rejected attempts by lawyers of embattled Alfred Woyome to award cost against the Attorney General, Martin Amidu, for delaying a suit filed against the judgment debt awarded the NDC financier. The AG was in court on Monday to plead for more time after raising an issue that he has filed an amendment statement to modify his earlier writ and claims seeking to challenge payment made to Woyome as a result of a judgment debt awarded him. The court adjourned the case to February 14. Mr. Amidu told an Accra-based radio station Joy FM after the adjournment that fundamental constitutional issues have been discovered by his outfit with respect to the whole saga hence his plea for more time. Woyomes lawyers were unhappy with the AGs call because they felt the case has been unduly delayed, but the trial judge felt otherwise.
