The Controller and Accountant General, Ralph Tuffuor, has warned all Banks against delaying the payment of public sector workers by the end of this week.
Government has given a directive for the early payment of Salaries and Wages for January.
The Controller and Accountant-General�s Department has confirmed to Citi News that the mandate for the payment of the salaries has been sent to the Bank of Ghana.
A similar directive by the Government for early payment last month was frustrated by the Banks which triggered several agitations from workers.
Speaking to Citi News, Mr. Tuffuor urged all Commercial Banks to pick their Credit Advice from the Bank of Ghana to facilitate the early crediting of the accounts of the public sector workers to enable salaries to be accessed by today.
