Pro-NDC Press More Machiavellian Than Boko HaramTheir Conscience Can Be Bought With Just GH 1

A Deputy Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Samuel Awuku has slammed the posture of the alleged rented press aligned with the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) saying so desperate are they to do the bidding of their paymasters that one can easily buy their conscience with just GH 1. To him, the activities of the criminal section of the NDC press are more devious than Boko Haram, a self-styled Islamic group based in Nigeria and noted for inflicting mayhem on anybody who steps on their toes. Clearly appalled at the way some seven (7) newspapers; sympathetic to the cause of the NDC could descend so heavily like a ton of bricks on their own party member; Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Martin Amidu, the dep communications director was of the view that any attempt to muzzle or give Mr. Amidu the marching orders will go against the governments resolve to fight corruption. The A-G in a press release last Wednesday described sections of the pro-government media as a partisan and rented NDC press group who perceive that I am not performing the duties of my office in their partisan political interests and accused the Daily Post, National Democrat and the Ghanaian Lens of allowing themselves to be used by an unnamed colleague minister of state. But the A-Gs statement has been condemned by NDC loyalists with some calling for his dismissal for failing to use internal party structures to address his grievances. Indeed, quite remarkably, on Monday January 16th, not less than 7 newspapers sympathetic to the cause of the NDC (Daily Post, National Democrat, Ghanaian Lens, The Informer, Daily Democrat, The Catalyst and The Crystal Clear Lens), rolled out with the same screaming headline A-G Martin Amidu Must Go.
